The only one I dislike is Incineroar.

The starters in SM are very formulaic, you've got the cute/pretty one for girls, you've got the edgy fighting game bait, and then you have the bara furry.

People seem to get mad when all three starters aren't badass or cool looking. With Gen IV they stopped doing the "same thing but bigger" thing in favor of each line having a theme, which I think a lot of people also are not happy about.

It's part of the overall change of the direction of the franchise to have a wider appeal.
