It suffered in the second half from too much of Ash & co.. for a main character he really can't carry a whole film. But he had a good moment recalling saving Pikachu in the first episode. All of the best moments were largely Lucario's

I find it funny that Lucario told Ash to never abandon his pokemon...which is what he pretty much does after every series. Ash should have died instead.

Has there seriously not been a movie since that was even close to being as good or memorable? Not that this Lucario movie is a masterpiece or anything, but pretty notweorthy

Sad that Lucario has such a bad rep. I never used him much in Pokemon, but he was my favorite character in SSBBrawl, and I grew to like him since. Then he got a lot of love in X/Y, with a cool subplot in the anime dedicated to him. Then I go online and find out that he's widely hated. le sigh
