One of my favorite Pokemon, but I mostly just use it as a physical attacker.
It's pretty obvious that the mon just existed to give Team Magma and Aqua a weak, easy to beat Dark type, since it's a physical attacker in a gen where the physical special split didn't exist yet. It also learns barely any moves, and in Gens IV and V couldn't even learn Crunch. You had to level Poochyena up to 53 to get the move, which is pretty ridiculous.

I guess moxie + stab sucker punch is alright, but honchkrow does it better.

Could be much better. Give it better stats and a larger physical-oriented movepool and you could have something decent.

You can try a pseudo DDancer meme set with Toxic Orb Quick Feet + Howl/Crunch/Play Rough/Sugger or Iron Tail or a Fang or something. It'll probably never do shit but it's better than absolutely nothing.
