Best cleaner in ubers hands down. Can't be cucked by espeed, everything faster than it (in ubers) just so happens to be weak to ghost. Doesn't give a singular solitary fuck about intimidate, nor does it particular care about blaziken (steals those boosts). Has the coverage for the handful of things that can withstand its STAB moves in hp ice (this is better than ice punch solely because the things you want to hit are physical walls) and rock tomb.

Zygarde was quickbanned a week into SM OU. Also Pheromosa wasn't really seen as broken at first. It even feel down all the way to A- in the viability rankings IIRC. It wasn't until the quiver dance sets got "discovered" that it got pushed over the edge.

What about Skymin? Life Orb set outspeeds and will OHKO with Air Slash. Seems like a decent check at least. Even against bulkier sets, Skymin still wins if it hits the 60% flinch.

If it's weakened enough then it just gets deleted by shadow sneak. Otherwise yeah, it's a decent check. Just don't switch into shadow sneak with sneaky pebbles up, or you're dead.

While that is impressive, it can't do all of that with the same set. If it's not running Life Orb it can't reliably beat Mega Gengar with Shadow Sneak. If it is running Life Orb it doesn't have access to the Z-Move and will probably have trouble breaking through P-don. So depending on the set there'll be checks on most Ubers teams.

Of course having multiple viable sets that deal with different mons is also a strong point. The opponent will have to determine what set Marshadow is running first before he can react to it. Marshadow will already have caused some damage before the opponent even knows what he can actually check it with.

So what I gathered from here and other places is that the most optimal moveset is:
>Spectral thief
>Shadow sneak
>fighting stab
>HP ice

I know Marshadow has an unresisted stab combination, but it still feels like a 4 move slot syndrome to me, I don't know, it can't deal with fairies all too well if it doesn't run poison jab, and its walled by lando and other bulky physical walls without tech HP ice.
