For me I'd adapt the pokespe series and filler would just be typical sol stuff that expands on random NPCs you meet in the region like an episode on ecruteak city before the tower burnt.

Not really. There was the Litten episode, which is sadly still the best episode yet imo. Wasn't really hard though since like 80% is filler. Next episodes will focus on Akala and Akala trials but i'm really certain that they're gonna make the trials apart and throw fillers in between them. Some fillers are okay to good for what they want to be, but you can't really call them "interesting" when there's no story progression.

Ashs team will probably all fully evolve or all at least once. Litten seems like it wants to get stronger and Rockruffs goal is to evolve, so this one is pretty much guaranteed. We've also seen Litten cook in the camping episode, which kinda indicates that at least a bit of the stuff from the leaks was kept. I can see it becoming a lazy asshole when it fully evolves. Rowlet has that teleporting thing going on, so i'm sure that because of how good it was in the few battles it fought till now it will evolve into owl the edge. Seeing it still being silly and cuddly outside of battle but it will kick ass in battle.
Lanas Popplio might fully evolve, but i'm certain it will evolve at least once. Sophocles Charjabug might evolve into Vikavolt. Mallows Steenee will probably stay one, fits better because of her cooking theme. Kiawe might get Alolan Marowak, but we've seen it as a trial mon already, still think this is probable after Sophocles got Charjabug. Finally it might be possible for Lillies Vulpix to evolve at the end but we'll have to see if she has any more character progression to her. Other than that there's Team Rocket, dunno if they will ever catch Bewear, seems unlikely for now. Mareanie will probably also stay a Mareanie because most of James mons stay cute and unevolved.

I think all the starters will evolve at least once. Usually they leave the cutest starter unevolved all season, or whatever the shitmon is, but Ash's birds always evolve and Litten's evolution is also possible.

Also with Lana's water starter having such feminine evolutions, it gives the writers incentive to evolve it too.

Is Brock the most mishandled main character in the entire series? Given the sheer mass of time he was on the show (13 years and 600+ episodes), it would appear so. The other main characters only had a short limited time in the show so a lot of their lack of focus can be blamed on the short sagas, but the writers had 13 years to do things with Brock...and they just didn't.
