Well I don't know about magnezone, but with magnetone, you'd be surprised. Since showdown will show the "you might be trapped and won't be able to switch" message regardless of ability, everybody assumes their scizor/forretress just got trapped and won't even try to switch out.

I've seen that actually. I always select the swap option just on the off chance they're being cheeky or just plain forgot to change the ability. Almost never works, of course, but when it does it's super satisfying seeing the opponent go "oh shit, he didn't fall for it."

Been on the other end too. Ran analytic mag and people just won't fucking swap. It's kind of like going "auto pilot" in a fighting game. It's par for the course so you forget you have other options.

Modest is chosen so you can have the chance to out-speed some slower mons while still being slow enough to get the boost from faster mons.

Metal sound will usually force a switch allowing you to fire off an analytic boasted attack.
