Ground types are a concern; you've got Marionettl (and Condoom too, but the dual-Poison typing is annoying) but the 8th gym might give you a headache or two.

When you trade a mon away, the game will give you one from that pool at random. There are categories that determine how rare a specific Pokemon in the pool is as well, so some are more common than others.

I still think relying on the google doc is a signal of bad game design, especially considering this is not a rearranged kaizo version of an already-played game but a whole new thing with 386 new mons and a full new region. One may want to play it blind like he used to do as a kid (so, without checking every single mons' BST and movelist to judge if it should be used but rather basing himself on appereance+typ balance within the team), but by doing so you can't experience any surprise or novelty without getting absolutely bodied. It feels like the devs made it difficult enough to be challenging for their standards (standards of people who know every nook and cranny of the game) without taking in account a first-time player intrigued by this game.

Which is why you get whited out, then go back in knowing better, or load your save knowing better. Losing battles is part of the fun, since in regular mainline games you'll usually never lose a single time because your team is already multiple levels higher than any NPC trainer team will be. Getting absolutely bodied is part of the fun sometimes.
You can very well play blind and use whatever mons you want, and it'll be challenging either way. No one is stopping you. It's just that the clover doc IS there to use in lieu of a functioning completed wiki, which the current wiki is not.

tl;dr: even if you don't know everything about the game, you can learn your way through it like you usually don't in the actual games, and getting blown the fuck out is part of the experience

I hear from the devs that they're planning to put Amulet Coin somewhere early in the game, though I could be wrong. You're still fully intended to thief farm Chompests for Star Pieces and Nuggets though, and making rematches for every trainer in the game would take up too much room in the rom, so VS Seeker is not an option for implementation.

You really should update a vanilla rom with the latest IPS in the OP (link is the same, never changes but the IPS file gets updated).
Carlito's sidequest opens up a tacostand in Esfores where there's a bunch of mexicans inside, one house selling the low-happiness herbs while in another you can rematch Carlito repeatedly. Beating the Elite 4 and Champion again also resets the gym leader double battles in Innawoods.
But yeah you're kinda right. There's still room for balancing and updating as it is.

Did your ''strategy'' include visiting Move Tutor and Move Relearner? Do you know that you can reuse TMs infinitely, even during your League challenge? Don't you have a Willowisp user/Flying mon to ignore EQ/Ghost mon to ignore Body Slam/Intimidate? It's not that hard to neutralize Masdawg's damage. You can steal Star Pieces and Nuggets with pretty nice drop rate from Chompests in Rock Tunnel. Did you get your fair share of Leftovers/Choice Bands/Life Orbs? What level was your team?
I beat the League with lv. 64-65 team at first try with no EV training, but I might have minmaxed my team a bit using the doc.

The Amulet Coin really should be obtained elsewhere. Or people should just be warned about it, because now 95% of people playing blind will miss it.
I don't know why some people had a lot of trouble with the League and some not at all, most likely this is caused by some being gud, and some not, but maybe some mon balance could be in place. I don't mean increasing stats, just giving mons more support/status moves (Thunder Wave,Willowisp, Leech Seed, etc.)
You might also be right about the monstrously bulky Masdawg. It's not fun if your strongest attacks 6HKO it.Level 99 is cool though. Maybe do some playtests with removed Eviolite/Thicc bone/lowered or changed EVs/IVs, devs?
