I already beat the game so why bother switching now when my mons one shot anything in game anyway.

Set battle is still too slow. I wish there was a Showdown-esque instant resolution format, where text and action are both displayed at the same time, instantaneously.

I played on Set once and every battle was just 'how long can my other mons fight until I have to send out Toxapex'. Never again.

So then why even pretend like the story is a challenge at all? It doesn't matter whether you use Set or Shift; either way it's an easy game. If anything you should be focusing more on the battle facilities for single player challenges.

I started doing it because people said it made the games way harder but I didn't really feel any more difficulty in the fights even with more turns spent switching where I wouldn't before, if anything it was just harder to play around jobbing until a sudden turnaround or a fitting Pokemon or move climatically saving the day to make the fights look good which is the only way I really enjoy in-game battles

I like using set instead of switch because even though the game is easy (it's a kids game ffs), being able to instantly win no matter what my opponent throws at me is boring. At least with set play instead of switch, you have to play offensively and defensively. It's not artificial difficulty like not using the EXP share (even though I rarely use that either) or fanmade stuff like nuzlockes. And it's more like actual battles at facilities and online, which is the main reason I play these games anyways.

There's no option to change the battle style in Colosseum.

I'm autistic about experience, and Set causes experience to be spread throughout the party in a way that causes certain Pokemon to get more than others.
