Pokémon is a good series, even if it is flawed.
Most Pokémon aren't actually bad design wise, it only really depends on the player's aesthetic.
Even at it's worst (in the main series), I still would rather play a Pokémon game than a mediocre and repetitive game, like some shooters and such.
I don't like some starters, but I don't care if you like them.
