We will get another RBY remake sooner or later. Gen 1 pandering is still strong and the gen 1 remakes are already old as fuck. They're so old that they don't even have the physical/special split. It won't necessarily happen anytime soon, but it probably will happen.

Kanto in some form isn't a matter of if, but of when. Gen 1 is the cornerstone of selling the franchise to normies, and having to sell a new console with it only amplifies the need to dip into that popularity.

Next year is DP remakes as the last 3DS games, 2019 is Switch with either heavy Kanto references like the last two generation starters (XY and SM) or just being straight-up placed in Kanto.
