Gen VI and VII models are inferior to the gamecube ones and I seriously hope they are scrapped or revised for a Switch game. The GC models were to scale and actually had more than a single idle animation going for them. They were positively full of life and they either need to step up the quality or go back to sprites

GF is insane for settling for such low quality in the first place. Compare the two, 3DS battles are fucking lifeless and have no impact. It would be pathetic for them to use it on a console game when it was outdone over 10 years ago

Fun fact, the Pokedex 3d/Gen 6/Gen 7 models are to scale. They've been datamined and they're measured in "units" but the units correspond to centimeters. They're just normalized for the 3ds screen so you don't get a wailord taking up the entire screen while making all of the other pokemon literally a few pixels in size (the drawback of a low resolution screen).
