You are pokemin trainer, after like, badge 3 shit goes down (Devil Survivor would likely be the best fit for this scenerio), and from that point on you have to use your Pokemon to fight against the demons. When fighting demons, there is a press-turn like system.
Your pokemon have a chance of dying when they are knocked out, a 10% chance by default, it goes down if KOd by a NVE attack, recoil, or persistent damage, it goes up if KO'd by a SE attack or crit.
Wild pokemon are generally harder to find, but are also more precious to refill your team.

In Pokemon you can take your bros from the beginning of the game and make them powerful at the end.

SMT you need to fuse away the demons you like except in some cases like Pixie.
