I'd bet on DiaPer on the 3DS in 2018. Probably the 3DS's final mainline Pokémon game too.

it's my sincerest bet that if there will be DPPt remakes, they will be on the 3DS, maybe a dual release on the switch, but it will be the last urah for pokemon on the 3DS, before the inevitable switch to the switch, which is essentially confirmed by GF themselves.

remember BW2 released while the DS was dying and the 3ds was already on the market. It's not atypical for GF to stagger their releases on the 'new' console until it's out and the userbase is established, and they've had the time to work with the new programming environment.

GF is a slow and steady player. never on the bleeding edge.

I think it'll depend. If we get a game in 2018/early 2019, it will be DP Remakes for the 3DS. Otherwise, they are likely taking a year or two to concentrate on a late 2019/2020 Switch release

I don't really think they'll pass up the chance to cash in on a remake, the fact the direct didn't have anything Gen IV related - is a massive tongue in cheek way to hint at that. It's classic Japanese humor, to completely ignore the possibility of something only for it to come around in an 'it can't be helped' fashion.

the more remakes they make the more they streamline the rehashing process, and lest we do not forget this could be done with a separate team to a mainline release. Even with a modest 108 employees, most of the footwork for making a pokemon game is already done. 80% of the office could be working on USM, while the other 20% could easily be fine tuning diamond and pearl remakes as we speak. Remakes take less work by default.

still, I think it's idiotic of GF to have so few employees when they've got the best net revenue per employee out of any video game company in the industry. Pokemon literally prints money in comparison to any other video game franchise. Add another floor or two of workers and they could deliver the wildest dreams of the fans making full-fleshed games in yearly installments. BUUUUTTT the pokemon company solely exists to cover Nintendo's stupid decisions as of late.

What do you mean? DiaPer remakes are guaranteed to be on NinSwi, there's one remake per ConGen. Expect GenSev to come first though because there's never been a remake before the MainGe of a PokeGen.
