The pinnacle of the series was the GBA and DS eras. Generation V is just an expansion of the major improvements made by Generations III and IV.

Definitely my favorite ones visually and main story-wise by far. My only issue is the lack of post game content

B/W was a real gem of a game. It's just a shame that the region lock soured away the more traditionalist players and kept them from giving it the chance it deserved.
