Crystal was in the GBC, and they barely changed things, desu. Plus, Gold and Silver were already good games with decent post-game, so there wasn't much to change.

USUM could be critically acclaimed as the best pokemon games ever made, have all of the features people ask for back like following pokemon, BF and PWT, Dexnav, habitat list, soaring, pokeradar and whatever the fuck I'm forgetting, the biggest safari zone ever, game corner being replaced by an arcade with tons of minigames including pinball, the best level curve, the AI being competent with full teams in all of the bigger battles like Gyms, the antagonist team's admins and leader(s), final battle with rival before the E4, the E4 and champion and post game battle with rival and all of the trainers having good movesets and IVs/Evs and maybe even hold items, the game not focusing on the story, every pokemon being available in some way,100+ new pokemon of quality and be in a region where you can do all the gyms in whatever order you want with backtracking for story progression to make it the least linear game yet and people on this board would still say it felt rushed and call it shit.

I like to think they know what they're doing and will give us something nice and fun that isn't SM: Now With More Armor, but I haven't yet recovered from the major disappointment ORAS made me feel.

I see alot of people are disappointed that Pokemon Stars isnt a thing and that its not on the Switch, but where the hell did those ideas come from and why did people believe it without any sort of concrete proof.
