It details each major event throughout the story and shows your ace next to it, which shows the growth and changes of your team, as opposed to randomly showing pokemons you've caught but have never really done anything with.
Also, the music hits the spot perfectly, remixing major themes throughout the game, which helps compound the feel of progress throughout the entire credits.
Besides, after getting all feelsy, the transition into may's battle theme for the final battle is the best fucking thing I've ever experienced in any mainline Pokémon game ending.
