Do we actually know for sure Masuda is directing USM? He showed up in the Direct, sure, but he's kind of the most famous guy in Game Freak so of course they'd stick him in front of the camera.

Honestly a Masuda base and Unno follow up is the ideal choice. All of masuda's games are solid and complete entties to the franchise that changed the game and added useful features.
Unno bolsters that with a metric fuck ton of content from exploring new areas to new battle facilities.

Morimoto would be the second best after Unno but absolutely needs a Masuda base to make something good.

Kawa doesn't really understand how to really improve a game but has potential and Ohmori is just a straight up hack who managed to fuck up a Masuda base, he needs to be fired.

Then what we need is for him to be *exclusively* in charge of third versions and remakes and to stop it with the sequel crap. Put out the two versions of the new gen, have Morimoto start working to develop a remake, if there's any that generation, about halfway through development of the main titles so they'll be ready to go within a reasonable time frame after the main games, then once those are released, hand him everything from the main games and have him start polishing them up and combining elements to make a cohesive third version that incorporates everything and gives us an awesome "definitive" experience with a story that brings both of the games together and introduces some new and fun stuff to do over the main versions.

It's a fool proof plan, and we'd get some fucking amazing games, but instead we're getting what amounts to "Sun and Moon again, but just a little better"
