Not really. they aren't my favourite games in the series (they don't make top 5), but I don't hate them.

I'm not excited either, but get this, I wasn't excited for B2W2 at all, in fact, I skipped it till like, last year. But I played it and had such a fucking blast, I played it again almost immediately. It's my number 1 Pokemon game now.
It's fine to have your hype at rock bottom, at the very least you'll be pleasantly surprised by at least 1 thing if you liked anything about SM.

We know too little about them, really.

Wait for some new info to come in, and something might excite you.

Because beyond the game itself, there's nothing to be hyped about. They only revealed how the legendary Pokémon which is simply not interesting enough. I'm on the same boat, but kind of blaming the trailer rather then the game itself.

Mostly because of the change-is-bad mentality. I felt the same way about B2W2, thought "Sequels? Fucking assholes, that won't be any good." Still haven't played them. Same thing with this. I'm sure I'm wrong and that B2W2 are fine and USUM will be too, but it's a stretch for me.

You're not alone, I too find myself surprisingly underwhelmed by the announcement yesterday. I regret never playing B2W2 after hearing so much positivity about it so I'll give the new games a chance. I remember going to see Deadpool with rock bottom expectations and was pleasantly surprised. I hope USUM parallels that.

I just got burned way too much to get hyped again for this series right now, the fact that the announce made me think we were getting switch games just to announce a pokken port was also retarded.

You're just unexcited because deep down, you feel like you're going to play the exact same game again, which you will.

I'm hoping for new mons (or at least new forms) because new quirky features that might as well be removed by the next game because of Game Freak's infamous "two steps forward, one step back" principle won't cut it for me. And I'd even go as so far as to call it the "one step forward, two steps back" principle.

And unlike B2W2, these don't look like sequels. They seem more like an alternate version of SM, which doesn't excite me at all. B2W2 were cool, because it was a proper continuation with an expanded map and new characters. Alola can't be expanded at all. So what you'll get is the same old shit with some new forms and different cut scenes, and those empty lots in each city will have a building there.
