Because people didn't learn their lesson from ORAS, where they forgot to stipulate they wanted an Emerald remake, not a Ruby/Sapphire remake.

People MEAN they want Platinum remade, but Game Freak doesn't know that, so in 4 years or so, everyone's going to be incredibly disappointed.

GF comes out with remakes so it's easier to get certain pokemon, or to make it so that older regions can be revisited without having to buy old consoles. They don't care about adding more content than the games they're making them from, and ever since B2W2 they've made it clear they don't care about postgame as much as they used to or think that the fanbase cares about postgame
