This thread isn't about whether it is or is not a third version. I'm asking if people even know what a third version is. So many people on /vp/ are acting as if it's never been done and I have to question if they just like don't know about Platinum and Emerald or something.

Third versions usually don't change much in the story except the parts involving the legendaries. For all we know, these games could make Lusamine a good guy and Kukui the real vilalin.

Third versions so far have featured new villains, new areas, changed gym leaders and champions, entirely new storylines... if Lusamine and Kukui switched places, I'd still call this a "third version."

I would like to see it be more like an Earth 2 set in the ultra space alternate reality doppelgangers of the SM characters type story, but gamefreak sucks at the Hypercrisis.

Emerald dropped the Team Magma good, Team Aqua bad (or vice versa) in favor of both being evil, moved Groudon to a volcano, and set up an entire additional step to the cover legendary process.
Platinum introduced an entire wing to team Galactic that didn't operate on the whole Creation Trio wavelength.

Then you get Black and White 2, which are still considered "Third" versions, even if there's two of them. This is no more of a change than that.
