So what's really wrong with being your favorite being super popular?
Wouldn't you like seeing it more often? All the fanworks and usage in other media? It's not like they'd hog 100% the spotlight anyways.
I wanna fuck that Charizard
There's nothing really wrong with it, it's just that 99% of the time the people who like the most marketed Pokemon are utter casuals who know nothing about the series.
This doesn't bode well with many hardcore fans.
I want to rub that zard's belly

Nothing wrong with that. The problem is usualy the larger amount of casuals and furfags that like the Popular Pokemon.

I want to get caught in her scorching hot backblast

Because depending on exactly how popular it is, you are that much less special for liking it. In fact, say your favorite is Pikachu itself, it really just makes you seem like you have boring, safe tastes.
Of course, liking the most unpopular and obscure pokemon doesn't necessarily make you suddenly interesting either, you just have to find that right sweet spot of liking a pokemon that is admirable yet maybe a little less appreciated than the same handful of mons that constantly appear in merch/media/etc.
That said, even if you have boring popular taste at least you're more likely to get pandered to than more obscure tastes.
This thread is gay.
GAAAY!!!

My favorite Pokemon's nice, but boy is it a target for a lot of vore cringe.

I don't care if they get all the spotlight, but Charizard and Mewtwo getting two mega forms is utter bullshit.
GF might eventually get to the less popular mons with generational stat buffs and nerfs for the really good battlers, so it's not all bad.

Not even the worst of it.
>deck is worthless as of this year, Zoodiacs stomping even Mermails, DDD's and ABC's
>link format is gonna gut everything and rinse-repeat
>eternal decks like Blue-Eyes, Red-Eyes and Magicians will still be mid-tier
It only becomes a problem when the developers give it special treatment.like two Mega Evolutions, for instance.
because it feels like someone who doesn't know shit is ntring you
if everyone who liked my favourite was like me and not a normie pokemon go playing casual it wouldn't be a problem
