If the new alola forms are johto exclusive I wouldn't be too happy. Johto pandering is just a different flavor of the same crap they'e been giving us with genwun since the beginning of the franchise. I wouldn't mind if gen 2 pokemon got alola forms but it's like gf pretends the other generations don't exist sometimes.

I think the Johto starters with Alolan formes would be neat, but I'd probably vie for them to maintain their original typings while adding on another, rather than complete type changes. It'd especially work since they're all monotype. I can especially envision this since Typhlosion would be the perfect Pokemon to have adapted to the island environment given there are volcanoes there. Maybe Meganium will adapt to (one of) those fields where you find Oricorio, or experience something similar to Alolan Exeggutor. Feraligatr could be a number of things.

Oh come on, what do you want them to do? Give more focus to Gen 4 or 5 than Gen 1? Why WOULDN'T you focus the most on the originals that everyone recognizes? Sun and Moon gave acknowledgments to every generation.
