The lack of a touchscreen, the generations primary gimmick most things were based around.
Limiting the games to a home console is a dickmove on it's own.
A Switch game wouldn't look half as good as people assume it would as it'd still be using older assets/a frame for a new generation.

It has very little to actually gain from the jump to HD that couldn't be better done on the 3DS as the final games on em. I'd rather see a quality game than something shoehorned into a home console just to sell it. Port Sun/Moon/Stars to that shit, it didn't even use the touch screen.

The problem is that the touchscreen isn't very good according to various people.
More than that, it was the games that actually did the most with double screens. Remaking them as a sendoff for the system that actually has two screens and established assets makes more sense than wasting the potential to sell a "hybird"

Best to place a new gen/Stars on the Switch and leave the remakes where they could shine the most. I even want more games for my Switch but this would be horrible and anybody with common sense can see that.

Gen V was proof that age of the system doesn't determine quality of the end product. What we get is a reflection of the dedication and skill of the developers, and it's pretty clear that Game Freak has been falling in many areas since their transition to full 3D. It's downright sad.
