To see what your PTCGO stuff is worth, look on the PTCGO forums in the trading section. Trading companies will typically overprice cards, aim lower. Keep pack value in mind when trading.

>Make psychic/steel deck with my main card being Metagross GX
>Tapu Lele GX ends up stealing the show because search for Mallow card for 2 double colorless to top of deck
>mfw
>>32674678
Wait is that a comp meta?
I'm >>32674720 and had literally no idea and just built what I thought was cool. I'm good at this shit
>>32674014
they made golisopod with the leaf thing for its bug type and not the water thonmg????? fucking tcg types why don't they fix it already
Guardians Rising:

>>32674783
thanks didnt feel like cropping the image
>>32674730
Yes. Metagross has been doing unexpectedly well recently.
>>32674069
Someone really need to draw slav-style gopniks Delinquent and Sylveon mugging random pokemons and trainers.
>>32674069
Can someone explain me why is Sylveon so good? Been out of the loop for a while.
>>32674744
The only thing wrong with how typing works in the TCG is how obnoxiously strong hitting for weakness is. On one hand it prevents any big EX/GX with a weakness from being t0 because there will always be a counter deck, on the other hand it creates a total rock/paper/scissors style meta once things settle. Weakness should be additive, not multiplicative. Sadly they aren't likely to change anything about that until the next big block at the earliest.
>>32674730
It's basically daddy volc and baby volc all in one except power heater is an ability instead of steam up and it doesn't get fucked by silent lab. Deck has a hard time extending to OHKO (you can only hit 200 per turn running 1 dhelmise without Kukui which leaves you just short) on some of the fat megas/GX cards but it absolutely crushes Garbodor due to massive HP and resistance.
>>32675270
It's not actually that good due to there now being several viable metal decks that see play due to Garbodor. But it's the closest thing this game has to control, it's good because you can bring up whatever supporter and items you need each turn, and it can go aggro if it has to with an attack that can 2HKO most of the game.
>opponent can see my 4 prizes play next tturn
>digs through his entire deck for a hammer
>finds it
>it misses
what a fantastic skill based game
clearly he has been outskilled
>>32675759
Why would they ever reprint crushing hammer
To this day I don't understand why they make sure this card is always in standard
So,I started playing the online game 10 days ago or so and I pulled Sylveon GX,Tapu Lele GX and (just now) Metagross GX. Should I start building a Metagross or a Sylveon deck? I'm getting mixed signals from the game.
>>32674014
What do Golispod and Guzma do?
>>32676422
Metagross is more fun and probably more viable. You should wait a bit for the prices of the cards to drop though, they are overpriced right now.
Meanwhile you can build your Sylveon deck, or sell it (if it's not locked) and make a deck you like more.
>>32676873
Unfortunately almost all my cards are locked. At the moment I've thrown together a deck using Manaphy EX,Lapras GX and Sylveon GX. Is not that strong but since everyone I find in PVP uses themed decks it's pretty easy to win with it.
Back again from the previous thread. I just finished this standard generations deck only to realize Training Center is not viable for standard. What would be some good replacements for it?
>>32677244
The only healing card which is somewhat used is max potion, but you already have some of those, so either add more or replace the evosoda for rare candies so you can get charizards faster.
There is also Olympia but that only heals 30 hp and is normally used for the switch.
>>32677353
Thank you, Olympia is definitely a good idea for switching. I know I should just make this for expanded since Generations will probably be switching out anyways this fall but there's too many bad players in expanded which makes it not as fun to play.
For those who missed yesterday

>>32678369
I really like Metagross. 250 HP is almost impossible to take down with Max Potion.
>>32675270
it's not
>>32676464
Golisopod does like 90 off one green if it's been switched around, and Guzma is escape rope but you choose what they switch into.
>>32678491
>>32676464
yeah it does 30 for 1 grass 120 if it was switched that turn however choice band and promo lurantis exist putting it up to 170 or 190, and kukui is able to get another 20
combo forest of giant plants and a supporter that enables the extra 90 damage + a lysandre, it's an amazing deck
>>32674069
Just order my playset of 'em!
so PTCG dudes, what is the best way to tell if an irl pack is fake from the packaging alone?
more specifically, what's the best way to teach parents who don't give two shits about pokemon the difference between fake and real?
nephew is often disappointed at birthdays/christmas whenever some buy him cards only to find they're fake and there's no code for the online game
so far i've noticed very obvious ones like the "pokemon go" logo and mismatching titles (X/Y booster name with sun/moon above it for example) but of course most others basically think the only game of the series IS pokemon go
>>32679122
Where I live, there is no fake cards. Tell the parents to only buy cards at Target or Wal-Mart or Toys R Us. Or even Gamestop or EB Games (my personal pick for best price and best rewards system)
>>32674069
Get fucked buddy
>>32679122
Basically what this guy said >>32679238
Also tell them if they really want to buy cards off of ebay to never buy it from a seller who is located in China (typically Hong Kong) as you're almost guaranteed to be getting fakes.
>>32679122
Where do people buy these cards? I remember when I was a kid fake Pokemon and Yugioh cards circulation amongst students but I never was given a fake pack or ever saw one.
I guess it's like flea markets and other shady stuff?
>>32679606
from what i can tell they just grab them from supermarkets for maybe a dollar or two and give them away
they're not even that good effort either, one of the cards was literally an untranslated japanese exeggutor.
really think that even knowing how to not get bamboozled they'll just keep doing it anyway because it's cheap
can't blame a guy for trying though
>>32680018
>literally an untranslated japanese exeggutor
If you mean this guy he's actually a rare reprint from XY: Evolutions
>>32679606
Dollar stores
>>32680064
i wish it was, different art and didn't have that little caricature in the bottom right
is "tyogre" a meme in the tcg community? cos one of the cards was a nonshiny kyogre ex or some such mispelled that way
Lately i've been testing a Toxapex/Lunala deck. I like the results, but the 2 big problems i have found is Dhelmise basically doing anything and it's difficult to draw energies. Any advice?
PS: Don't know why the screen doesn't show the last line. It's 3 Sycaore, 1 Exp. Share, 1 Float Stone
>>32680247
Is Dhelmise just in the deck to stop retreating for the poison hits? There are better Pokemon you could tech in, three energy just for that is too much
I think there's an Alolan Dugtrio which increases retreat by 1
>>32678369
>No sylveon
hhahahahaha what a shitty deck
>>32679122
> what is the best way to tell if an irl pack is fake from the packaging alone?
When you feel like it came from Mexican,Arab,Chinese bodega.
>>32679122
>so PTCG dudes, what is the best way to tell if an irl pack is fake from the packaging alone?
I don't know, if you're buying them yourself just get them from a big name store like Walmart,CVS,Target,Toys R Us
>>32680128
>is "tyogre" a meme in the tcg community?
No, but it should be
>>32681163
Ok not gonna lie, I'm a little underwhelmed
>>32679122
it's so fucking obvious. they should just buy them at real stores like Target and shit, instead of getting scammed online. The bottom line is that a pack isn't going to cost less than ~2.75 and a box isn't going to cost less than ~85. Anything else is too good to be true and probably fake.
Why is vgc so hard to discuss on /vp/ and why does tcg always have a thread? There's no good places left to discuss vgc. Is it just that there's more players? Weird considering the relative cost of tcg is so high. You can compete with a $90 2ds. Well I admire the community you have. I tried for years to get something started on here for vgc
Okay i guess
>>32681246
I know that feel. I flipflop between the two and NuggetBridge has all but died in activity.
Now that there's quite a few successful decks being played, what would a tier list look like?
>>32681352
I love Zoroark
Whoops didn't mean to reply to you
>>32681392
Haiku poems make a lot more sense when you realize that they're intended to be in Japanese which made up of only pure sylablles.
Man, Excadrill/Dhelmise is the perfect anti-Sylveon deck.
>>32681591
That's why I tech Flareon :^)
>>32679324
Thats a good 5ban graphics art.
>>32681352
slow decks > garbador > fast decks > slow decks.
>>32681715
And that's why I run Altar of the Sunne :^)
>>32681381
I'm liking Pure Zoroark more than Vespiquen
>>32682079
I would love Vespiquen if you could play more than one stadium a turn.
4-4 quen
4 shaymin
4 hoopa
4 unown
4 klefki
4 balls
4 giant growth
4 sky field
4 parallel city
4 sycamore
4 bike
4 DCE
4 energy recycler
It's stupid to the bone and I hate that we'll never have a chance to test it.
>>32682103
You could play Sky Field with Field Blower
>>32681246
I think it's due to the huge influx of mtg-fags because wizards of the coast rubbed them the wrong way or something.
>>32682120
After being dicked around for five sets we can see the writing on the wall.
This is nice
>>32682303
>dat Guzzlord
>>32682303
I wonder how they'll deal with Silvally
Either they'll make multiple types of it, a la Platinum Arceus
...or, one colorless that can change type, a la Generations Arceus
?????????
holy shit what
>>32682557
I believe this is still roughly the odds.
>>32682728
Damn didn't even know that was a possibility
>make opponent discard the rest of their hand
>they draw next turn
>get a card that lets them replenish their hand
>this happens literally every single time
pure RNG my ass
BIGDADDYSYLVEON
>>32682353
I'm hoping it has an ability that makes it so becomes the same type of the basic energy attached to it. Restrict it the first energy attached or allow it to be multi-typed, just give it versatility and make it a counter card.
>>32680247
Dhelmise is pretty pointless here for sure.
