I would get rid of universal weakness/resist based on typing and have each Pokemon have their own weaknesses and resistances

Why do people want this? Steel still resists a lot of types and it makes no sense for a metal to resist evil. Even if the dark type meant literal darkness it wouldn't make sense for steel to resist it.

I like them. Ice resisting Fairy doesn't really make sense, but I guess it's ok for balance reasons.
