I love you op. Thanks
saw a neat comfy pic I failed to save last time.
It featured a glowing, barely visible rayquaza flying across the night sky.
Anyone have it?

Tomokazu Komiya's stuff in particular is pretty great.

Love you all folks, help me rekindle my love of pokemon. It's been hibernating for a while.
>>32661437
Just a post that I made and no one agreed with me despite existing proof, therefore they proceeded in calling me mental.
Too bad that now I keep on making posts and comments like what they bashed, but in a much more autistic way, bashing myself, so they have no word on trying to bash me.
Kind of like what Eminem does on the 8 Mile movie, if you've seen it.
Any of you folks ever think about finding a way to print some of these in a poster to put them on a wall? Or use it as a sort of diagram for decoration?
A lot of this comfy art is top tier. Makes me think that when I get my own place I'd like to style it one way or the ohter, like >>32658322

That blows. Had something similar happen to me when I said that Pokemon Special came out before the Anime. (The first volume release was after, but since Special is released via magazine first the initial chapter came first.)
>>32659232
>That kyogre under them
Could be creepy, but this is comfytown
Why does all the hoenn images feel so comfy yet when I play these games I can't appreciate them at all.
I can't find the pokemon comfy
I can't find the region comfy
I'm not having fun at all
I'm glad fanart exist tho
>>32661493
>released via magazine first the initial chapter came first
Makes perfect sense. I guess people are just uninformed and dumb enough to not research, so they assume right away they are right and proceed to bash whoever says they are wrong. I hate that kind.
>>32661516
Maybe gameplay and scenario don't mesh well. Water is super comfy in real life an art but many people don't like the surfing, so there.
Also with art you can picture whatever music you want playing there, you can see the scene in your own pacing.
Are you playing the originals or ORAS? Maybe there's something that changes between those. I wouldn't know because I only played the GBA ones
>>32661516
Hoenn always felt more adventure'y than comfy to me
Johto is the ultimate comfy region in the games themselves
This one is one of my all time favorites. It's just so, so very perfect in what it implies.
>>32661533
Adventure can be comfy, but I guess you have a point there.
I thoguht Johto was lackluster myself but I was always one of those people that enjoyed exploring and finding nooks and crannies more. Hoenn with the dive mechanic and the sunken ship and all the tens of small islands was just so perfect. Johto feels like a general comfy spot where you know you're not alone because other people around you are also chilling
>>32661533
Yeah, agreed. I actually think for me Alola is the comfiest region along with Johto.
Favourite is BW/2 though.
>>32661545
>finding nooks and crannies more
This is my all-time favourite game layout. That's why BW and BW2 are my favourite regions. Sure, linear routes in terms of the start and end point going from A to B, but so many little hidden areas and coves along the way.
What do you guys think is the best way to be comfy in the games? I know a lot of people love breeding. Me, I just like to go around the region with a bunch of HM mons and seeing what I missed/forgot the first time around
You know, we really, really need to have more ruins in the games.
>>32661527
I played Emerald when I was young (didnt get ruby or sapphire) and I played AS when it came out.
I agree with you, water is the comfiest. It's also my favorite type.
Maybe I should try doing a nuzlocke of Emerald or AS and try it again.
>>32661533
Sinnoh feels more comfy to me but it may only be nostalgia speaking. I've been playing since red (actually played red until emerald came out because family was poor and even then I played it only once because it was my brother's game. I got myself FR instead). Pearl was the first game I bought with my own money and that's where I made friends who also played the game.
>>32661546
I liked Alola but there's too much cities and not enough nature for me. The other big let down for me is the heavy emphasis on the story. I liked that gen 1, 2 and 3 had no big story outside of kill the bad guys and you could make your own. I do understand the appeal of the region even if I don't like it that much myself.
>>32661566
In older games I love planting berries and making beautiful berry bushes grow. I also like fishing and chain fishing gave me a reason to do that in XY.
>>32661566
I find minigames, side features and side areas to be incredibly comfy myself
I know some people hated them but I spent hours in the area around goldenrod city playing voltorb flip, bug catching contest and the pokeathlon on my first run of HGSS. Then after I got Surf I backtracked to solve the secrets of ruins of alph and that little hidden area under the day care center. Most comfy I ever been in a Pokemon game ever. The graphics and sound effects in that game made the experience all that better.
>>32661493
Additionally if the resolution isn't big enough you can always upscale it via http://waifu2x.udp.jp/
>>32661565
Yeah, I love shit like that. I know the Castelia Sewers were mandatory but it was so unexpected especially after it not appearing in BW.
>>32661599
>I liked Alola but there's too much cities and not enough nature for me. The other big let down for me is the heavy emphasis on the story. Agreed. I liked the characters more than I did last gen, but I dunno the whole saving the world from the big bad gets old after a while. I always considered Pokemon a coming of age story first so it seems like a distraction with that addition.

Artist''s name?
>>32661516
Because you're too young to have experienced them on launch and you bought into the /vp/ bandwagon.
ORAS is better than your favorite game and Hoenn is (objectively) the comfiest region.
>>32661634
https://twitter.com/savot
>>32661645
Come on dude, don't be a dick. People just have different tastes sometime.
I know it might be a bit specific, but does anyone have any foggy Sinnoh art? I always liked the foggy area
>>32661645
As I said there >>32661599 I was too poor to have experienced them at launch (even if I did play emerald when it came out) and not too young.
The rest of your post is just opinions so I'm not gonna comment on that. I'm glad you found something you like tho!
>>32661599
>>32661675
You should try a monotype. Not like there's any shortage of Hoenn water types to choose from.
Use a randomizer to be able to get those sweet trade evolutions and go ham my dude. But remember not to rush, rushing is the anti-comfy
>>32661694
Honestly, talking about it really made me want to play it again.
Should I go with emerald or AS? I want the comfiest experience possible.
I don't own Ruby or Sapphire and I dislike playing on emulators.
You know, I just realized that nowadays I'd be able to appreciate secret bases much more and be extra comfy in them.
I'm considering replaying Emerald for that, should I give it a go?
>>32661719
Honestly, I can't talk about AS because I don't own those. Emerald is more hands off as afar as I've heard though, no giftmons or anything. And, you know, secret bases.
>>32661719
AS if you want to mess with secret bases, Emerald if not.
You guys ever wonder about the possibilities if they didn't keep removing things each new game?
Imagine if in sun and moon we could plant berries, collect apricots, go underground, have both hoenn and sinnoh secret bases and still have amie/refresh?
The games would almost hit comfy singularity with the ammount of things to do.
>>32661772
Don't remind me, I'm most bitter about PSS and Pokeathlon being removed.
>>32661791
It just sucks, you know? Pokemon with all its flaws it already one of the biggest game franchises on the planet. Just thinking where it would be if they stopped holding back makes me groan.
Anyway, here's a question for all you folks, which weather makes for the most comfy experience or scenario in your mind?
I really dig snow, but I guess I'd have to say rain. Sandstorm only in very specific situations, such as you've been traversing a desert with your team for a long time and find shelter in some ruins. Then you sit back to rest and listen to the sandstorm raging out there, otherwise enjoying the silence and the promise of a new place to explore.
>>32661817
Rain, just like IRL or sunlight but only if you're near water.
>>32661817
Rain with thunderstorm is the definite best. Snow is a close second.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8cLW0Lckhc
>>32661849
Thunder is top tier comfy. I never understood how so many people irl seem to hate it.
Next question, favorite kind of secret base?
Underground, Tree, Cave or Bush? Where would you personally make one?
Would it be open somewhere else like an observatorium or closed off with one entrance for maximum privacy?
>>32661887
A well-hidden base in a tree. I'd love to be able to see the world from up there.
My favorite location in-game is the tree on the lake near new mauville. It's the best!
>>32661902
>>32661887
You know what would be great? Behind-waterfal secret bases. Surf up to one and use secret power instead of waterfall to open up a cave behind it.
Hell, maybe they could make it so that instead of holes and rocks and stuff it has underwater parts blocking some of it until you can drain.
Or maybe those make for secret fishing/diving spots with some interesting hard to find water pokemon

Crystal. Platinum if your internal battery is dead.
>>32661972
Meant this for
>>32661960
>>32661960
Sinnoh is the comfiest region tied with Hoenn for me.
Eterna Forest is just so, so great. Good layout, you can see the sunlight through the leaves, and there's the mysterious Old Chateau at the end
The entire northern Sinnoh part with snow and such, plus a ton of resting spots in there.
The Sendoff Spring and the Lakes
Fuego Ironworks hidden out in the river - seriously, took me three playtrhoughs to realize there was something in there.
Canaleve Library and Iron Island too
>>32661972
i'd play my crystal (replaced the battery a few years back) but im worried GF will release it on VC soon and i dont wanna play it if its coming
>>32661979
i haven't played Platinum in like 5 years. Might just give it another go.
thanks for the replies anons!
Any of you guys have ideas you'd like to put in the games aside bringing back old stuff?
I always thought it would be nice if we had a couple sidequests. Like helping an NPC in a double battle in one city and he shows up two cities later if you helped him with more confidence and ready to tackle the gym, stuff like that. Maybe a couple grunts keep challenging you when you have a run in with the enemy team and they both have trade pokemon. In the postgame you can challenge them again and you notice their pokemon have evolved and switched sides, implying they traded with each other.Probably hint that they got together/married/some shit like that as well
>>32662826
I just want more exploration. SM were good in they own accord but they were too story heavy. I feel like gamefreak could learn a thing from the radical changes in in Zelda BOTW.
If "it's for the childen"", maybe go the fire emblem route and make the versions different by going through different difficulties and less hand holding. Gen 5 showed us they could do something like that...

>>32665959
Fair enough. What do you want to achieve?
>>32666113
Writtan'. Be famous and make something as good/famous/iconic as one of the great ones while still being good instead of just appealing to everyone.
Either that or a cozy life where I can go out and know places and have my own pace. Both seem far away but got something to work toward. You?
>>32666466
Git gud at drawing. Don't need to be one of the greats, just want to draw my pokemon fanart without wanting to die and maybe make some friends through it.
Additionally, I wanna retire as early as possible I guess. It's looking like I might make it sometime in my thirties. Working full time stresses me out and I doubt there's anything out there I could truly call my calling.

god I miss the underground. Hopefully one day we'll see it again, but better. Feels so barren without someone to play with. I imagine (or hope) we'll be able to form online parties to play in the future. We could have /vp/ underground weekends.

Man, no idea. I'm awful at guessing that stuff. I don't think it's a new mainline game, that's for sure.
Hell I don't think I WANT a new game yet, give them time to make something better you know? On the other hand, I completely and honestly forgot Sun and Moon are already over a year old.
