Well, other than graphics maybe, the 3DS isn't as outdated as the GB technology was when the micro came out, 3DS can still connect online, download games and believe it or not, the fucking piracty will probqbly help sales now even more since you don't even need to buy a special gamecard or TTDS or whatever like with the original DS.

I'd say the 3DS still has some time left, probably until 2020, not to mention Swtich games are hella expensive in other countries (Like any country from LatAm, they're like 80 dollars) and maybe more people will preffer the cheaper console with chance to be pirated and have infinite games.

3D doesn't make the outlines "obsolete", 2D sprites work perfectly fine without outlines too. It's used here to, for once, accurately capture the visual style of the official artwork, and it looks pretty great, though they could further improve the effect once on better hardware.
