I'll tell you what. Back in my day I didn't grind for SHIT in platinum, and my entire party was above level 60. I swept through the e4 with ease. Now i replay the games, grind for hours, rematch trainers and all i end up with is a level 56 starter and the rest of my team is in the 40's. If cynthia's garchomp didnt somehow miss that one i wouldnt have made it. And guess what? Both times it was fun. Now we'll be forced to use megas and z moves and legendaries and SHIT. anyone who uses any of those three can't battle without handholding. Gen iv and early gen v competitive were the best days of competitive and anyone who disagrees with me is a stupid cunt who uses primal groudons shiny talonflames and mega pokemon who spam z moves and fuck all else because they can't win a normal battle unless they do so.

Agree on everything except z-moves being part of handholding. They're a gimmick at best, not worth the time. Conversion is probably the only broken one and usually if you KO with a damaging one, you would too or come close with a nonboosted version. Might be useful if you want to skip attack's secondary negative effect but this goes into the "gimmick" category.

The way gen 5 experience works is that you get less if the mon's level is higher than what you're fighting. At the same time if your mon is lower level you get more experience. It's a great way to incentivize the use of a full party and I've consistently found that I'm always 1-2 levels within a gym leader every time I play through BW.

Yes, because gen 4 in general are the slowest games in the series. Everything drags on and DPPt make this worse by including (for some stupid fucking reason) places that slow you down even more without ways to remedy the issue. I know people are going to say "dude you just have ADHD" or some shit but that's a terrible excuse when the games are definitively slower and worse because of it especially compared to the previous games.
