Damn, you're right, I did forget Platinum's rebattling. I prefer the HGSS system for rematches, and I like the fact that there are 16 of them with full teams of 6, but I concede that Platinum did it too.

Even if the code for following comes from DPPt, no one would argue it's a DPPt feature.

I don't mean to disparage Platinum, though. HGSS, Platinum, and BW/2 are in my opinion the highlights of the whole series, each with great, unique features that Gamefreak regrettably never did again. HGSS just happens to be the one I like most of those games.

HG/SS were better than DPPt. But that's not an incredibly high fucking standard to surpass.

Johto remakes looked nice, had nice music, brought back some nice things from the originals. But that's about where the praise ends. The menus were fucking atrocious, gameplay speed still Gen 4 garbage tier, and all the flaws from the original remained.
