They are being remade and you know it. Let's post some hints:

I know they'll remake it eventually because it's free money, but I won't be happy about it. I can't see modern Game Freak remaking DPPt and not butchering it.

Here's another reason they are being remade. DPP are the only games in the series to feature Day and Night versions of their soundtrack, besides, you guessed it, Sun and Moon.

How exactly would you make DPPt "playable" in a remake if the original games aren't playable? The only way I can see this happening is if you hate the good parts of DPPt and like the bad, and want them to remove the good parts of the region like they did with Hoenn in ORAS.

The water is the worst part of Hoenn. They wouldn't even be that bad if there were more than Pelipper and Tentacruel on most of them, but the part where you're constantly on water is the least engaging part of Hoenn even if you do just spam Repels the entire way through.

There is a lot more wrong with Hoenn in ORAS than just the Frontier, though not having the Frontier is a really shitty thing to do, especially with the "fuck you" statue they put on the Battle Resort teasing at something that will never actually be added to the game.
