But you could do that, it's exactly what I did. Lopunny and Drifblim are weak and Steelix is too slow, I just clicked surf until everything fainted. Infernape doesn't even have close combat so it doesn't do shit either.

I kind of found neat the concept of type specialists having pokémon with specific moves of the type they represent instead of having monotype teams, shame they completely dropped it after DP

Still beats the Gen 3 philosophy of using NFEs and repeats to fill the 5-pokémon quota

Well, yeah, I figured Flint was in the same boat with how many fire types there were(including starters since he has Infernape) by Gen 4, regardless of Sinnohdex or not.

Hang on, though. All his Pokémon do at least have a Fire-type move. Flint's Steelix has Fire Fang, Drifblim has Will O Wisp and Lopunny has Fire Punch. Same has how Volkner's Octillery has Charge Beam and Ambipom has Shock Wave.

It doesn't really count, but at least it's something. I actually thought it was more interesting and more challenging, since you couldn't just pick a super-effective type and sweep. Particularly since Infernape has Thunder Punch, so your Water-type is fucked.
