I'm here to discuss topics about Pokemon itself. Whether it's a thread about a specific mon, or a thread about competitive, maybe a thread about what kind of real world concept people would like to see used as a bases for a mon next gen. I understand what you're getting at OP. Things have been negative lately. I feel like XY and ORAS were good games. Not the best, but not the worst. Post Game isn't everything. If the journey was fun and engaging than that alone makes a good game in my book. Sun and Moon weren't though. Lagging during battles, cutscenes out the ass, the first third of the game is a handholding tutorial.

We know GF can make good games with plenty of content to spare. They're proven this with Emerald/Platnium/HGSS/BW2. It's mainly annoying to see how they've somewhat regressed content wise moving onto the 3DS era compared to what they've managed to achieve in the DS games to satify most players. ORAS was almost there but sadly masuda fear of iphones ruined things and sun and moon somehow managed to be worse than XY and ORAS outside of the story and overowlrd overhaul. Not even mentioning the mess of join avenue and the butchered online and the lack of PSS and O-powers and post game grinding outside of the E4. Pelago was nice along with the removal of HMs obviously.

TLDR: They could put a bit more effort into things.

Generally people are pretty negative because they know that Pokemon can soar higher, personally I have liked every gen that I have played as the most interesting thing to me were the Pokemon.

Why do people think Pokemon can soar higher?

The same hated sun and moon.

The same people this extra dev time will make game freak make what they feel a good.

The same people don't remember 2015 was a break year.

I browse for the taste threads more than anything else, especially when it's something that's wildly different for each person like "top 3 from each gen" or "favorite pokemon and favorite something else".

I usually just lurk out of boredom but rarely I find threads that spark my interest. The shiny hunt general typically interest me because I like to collect shinies as trophies and seeing other anons share their luck and reach their collection goals gets me to want to hunt more too. Threads like >>32593656 mentioned also interest me. Not everyone comes here to start wars or shitpost. That just seems to be the vocal majority

I like most of the games but they could just be so much more, and it's depressing that they just dont put in the effort that should be required.

SM were the most disappointing games so far. Felt like I was just a tourist and couldn't be left alone, and there were mountains of bad design choices. GF can be summed up with one phrase. "What were they thinking?"
