I will literally never praise X/Y. All ORAS, has going for it was the soar mechanic and dexnav being neat.
Sun/Moon were alright, I'd say on par with B/W. Not outstanding like HGSS/BW2, but solid for the first game in a gen.

HGSS and BW2 were never considered bad. XY is not considered ok and will not be considered the best of the franchise by Gen 8. This "cycle" is bullshit.

Really nigga? At least RS, DP and BW introduced all-new mechanics that defined their generations. Contests, Berry growing, secret bases, the Underground, utility apps & items, double/triple/rotation battles, wild double battles, the Entralink, and so on. What did SM bring? A free-4-all hoax that nobody likes, glorified "press to win" moves that aren't even that useful and "max all your Pokémon's EVs, IVs, Friendship and Affection instantly while earning tons of money" area that makes the game so easy even a literal toddler could beat it. Sun and Moon are shit compared to other first entries, except for XY.
