It's hard to tell, but from the looks of the picture they might be fake. It's tough to tell with HG but fake SS Carts sometimes have Blue-ish backgrounds when they should be grey

Looks fine, but can't tell for sure without holding the cart up to a light source. Fakes tend to be grey instead of translucent, so they don't work with the IR features.

most likely fake seeing as the guy sold over 700 of them and still has over 10 more. Even though HGSS sold about 12 million copies, it was still a limited print due to the pokewalker.

If it's fake it won't be able to transfer your team without save modification, the BW transfer requires infrared to work.Those carts look they're made of the wrong plastic, but it's hard to tell and everything else looks right.

You could play on an emulator and then use pk3DS to transfer straight to your 3DS games, but HGSS shits itself regularly on emulators for some reason. Trading to Pearl then transferring would be easier if you haven't already hacked your 3DS.

I'd recommend flashcarts for the easy route if you can get your hands on one. You cant transfer from the cart to Gen5, but you can trade your team from a gen 4 rom to an official gen 4 game, and then transfer those pokemon into gen5 upwards. Plus it feels much nicer to play pokemon on an actual ds

It depends on what firmware version your 3DS is on, and whether or not it's a new 3DS. If it's an old 3DS on 11.4 it can't be hacked right now. If you're on 11.3 or lower, go here and follow the guide: https://3ds.guide/

A flashcart is just a modified DS cart that reads games off of a SD card, you can just put an HGSS ROM on one and it'll run better than the actual games do. R4 flashcarts are cheap ($5 - $10 is typical) but kinda unreliable, though one will last long enough to play HGSS.

Just pick up extra hours, or do other coworkers' side jobs for money. I charged $5 for my coworkers to clean their sections and reset their tables just to get HGSS when they were coming out, and managed to earn more than enough in less than a week.
