We've literally gotten the same episode 4 times now in the span of 30 episodes with only minor differences between each one. This shit is unbearable.

For what? It's true. It's not wrong to say that certain episodes of SM have been more hype than some of XY's worst/least hype episodes. We were pretty pumped for the Nyabby episode, even if this place was quieter overall than at a similar point during XY.

Forums like bulbagardne/serebii generally got less active around the first year of XY too. That's because around that time most people left forums to come either here to /vp/ or go to tumblr. Forums are pretty much becoming a dying breed, nowadays it's all about social media sites.

Back in the early/mid 2000's everyone used forums for everything, but nowadays even for stuff like videogames traditional forums like IGN are nowhere as active as they once were.
