Who would the EX prize be for the Rock/Steel gym anyway?

Rock has Regirock (which introduces another legend trio so soon) and Diancie.

Steel has Registeel, a bunch of very unlikely stuff from S&M. I guess Scizor and Jirachi which people seem to want.

Feraligatr, Electivire, and Darkrai are still out there begging to be rereleased with buffs, but the latter two can get their own gyms.

Mew just got nerfed to kingdom fuck thanks to Cobalion, Rayquaza is 1MP and can be easily surrounded if it lands on Fly, and Deoxys needs to 1) not land on D.Slip or Miss and 2) respin Gyarados onto Hyper Beam or Miss if it lands on Storm, assuming that Gyarados isn't part of a Tropical deck
The only other relevant dedicated Gold attacker is Zapdos who loses to Hyper Beam, not to mention the rest of Zapdos' wheel is trash
What's more, because Gyarados is a Rare and not an EX, its much easier to chain level so that it can beat other 110 attackers like Moltres and Heatran

John Duel here, I can confirm Aegislash-Shield Stance will be the upcoming EX reward. It will be a 0MP figure with only the move King's Shield, a one star Purple move that gives the opponent Wait 1. Aegislash will have the Stance Change Ability that, if it has evolved from Doublade, it will be sent out in its Blade Stance instead. However, Honedge and Doublade will not be released until the 2019 Halloween update.

How about a pokemon that's consistently preformed better than expected. This guy is not super great on his own but you get a Manaphy on the field and he will march down the field kicking serious amounts of ass. His ability is pretty damn handy too. especially since very few people ever seem to realize I'm running Scoop Up.

My gym team is currently Magikarp->Gyarados/Empoleon/Pupitar->Tyranitar/Geodude line/Grovyle/Mew
What should I drop for Aron? Should I even run Pupitar? Ttar will be at 2mp anyway and I can't imagine getting many opportunities to evolve it in the Terrakion meta. I also have Kabuto, Onix, Rhydon, and Armaldo for rocks with Metagross, Mawile, Bronzong and shitty Durant for steels.

I've been finding success with Pupitar>Tyranitar. There have been enough mews and arons that I've had little issue getting the evolve. Obviously aron requires an x-attack though. 3 mp Tyranitar is pretty damn nasty. I would probably drop the Geodude family. I would consider working in Kabuto and then Armaldo, this would give you three Water types to synergize with Armaldo.

I've found evolving pupitar on mews, arons, and opposing pupitars with the assistance of an x-attack to be relatively simple. And getting that 3 mp tyranitar is pretty sweet. Not sure I'd want to try evolving from larvitar. That seems considerably harder.

In any game where I don't get 3 shit spins right off the bat and end up confined to my own goal row instantly I manage to make it to the opponent's goal, kill the thing on it, and then lose to their last ditch effort that shouldn't succeed at all, then I get continuous bad RNG until I'm back in my own home base trying to get out of the corner.

I have a pretty stacked team (no Aggron though) and there's no hard counter to it. I usually match it with Mew or Heatran but even those aren't great counters. The ability is the worst though, having to fight a mon with a huge 140 slice just to get offensive pressure. I've had games vs dual aggron (2 against the number 1 player) and it's very easy for them to just charge down because of how optimal its wheel is

I think the devs have been pretty good honestly. the only major mistake I feel they've made was the deo and reun debacle which they worked pretty hard to fix. Deo is still a little Op and I personally think they overnerfed Reuns a little but we've definitely seen uncommons like petitlil and kabuto to help combat them. I wouldn't say anything in the new set was that great. Terrakion is good but still shits himself if confused. Doesn't like burn or paralysis either. I won't begrudge the devs selling gems when they drop new EXs but they do a pretty good job for us free guys too.

Nerfing Deo is hard to do in a feasible manner with how his gimmick works. You either attack each figure individually which other than Deo-A I'd say they are mostly individually weaker than average already or you make ways to fuck with Cosmo Energy. That's difficult because if the Deo player gets aura broken they are left with a handful of weaker figs and no way to renew Cosmo.

The problem is and always will be Cosmo Energy. Another problem is that this game punishes you for initiating fights. Attack the Deo-S running to your goal, it lands Dodge or you land Miss and it either walks into your goal or gives the opponent a free turn to set up another Deoxys onto the board.
Of course, the more popular starting move nowadays for Cosmo decks is leading with Deoxys-A, which causes two problems. A) Its 2MP so none of your own 2MP figures (namely Sceptile) can reach Deo-A before it can set up at least one more figure and B) the only 3MP figure that can challenge Deo-A is Mew and Deoxys will still be able to survive 70% of the time against it, letting your opponent a move Deo-N or Deo-S onto the field
The only thing the Cosmo Energy "nerf" did was weed out the shitters from the group of actually good players
