then fix them or just get rid of them

>>32519246
you see anon, without the links there then we'd have no OP copy pasta, and if we dont have an OP copypasta the threads will die off forever. It's clunky, but enough of them work and nobody here cares enough to write a new one

That pasta seems out of date even compared to the version from last year, it is missing my dropbox full of romhacks

I fucking used curse during the totem fight when Gastle was just barely below half hp. Killing it. I'm a fucking retard.

Thankfully I've got this Rattata so I've still got my poke to fight Hau's Pichu. Even a physical attacker and the Pikachu line has shit defense so this works out nicely.

Gotta not be so reckless in the future. Heard these trials get tough later.

I've got no mon who resists Ice, except for Snorlax with his Thick Fat. Jiggs got amazing Sp Atck, so gave it flamethrower.

>Blaine is unfortunate enough to have met Neptune. Of note is a Claydol with the bane of my existence: Cosmic Power. AI with Cosmic Power means it's gonna be a fucking slog. Good thing I had Blaine use all his potions before this. Not even the Claydol knowing Hyper Beam can make this fight exciting.
>Oh right. Sevii Islands were after Blaine. Time to go on a magical adventure. I also forgot that it's literally a sidequest to beat up some HOOLIGANS.

Here's the current PC box. Currently got 3/4 of the existing pseudos.

Alakazam and Charizard are the Magikarp/Eevee respectively.
>>
>>32526301
assuming you're not going with the alakazam to keep things challenging?
>>
>>32526339
Yeah that was my thought process when I got it. I'll be around the level where it isn't unfair to use anymore soon, but it's level 5 so it'll take a while to get up.

Since I have Scary Monsters, the Charizard is just being used as a Cut/Fly slave.
>>
>>32526344
it's still an alakazam, if you got that thing up to lv 25 he'd already be the strongest 'mon on your current team
>>
>>32526361
Yeah, I'll probably end up using it if someone dies while I'm in my late 30s/early 40s.

Also used the randomiser to make it so that, by level 45~, every trainer Pokémon will be fully evolved so there's that to look forward to.

If shit ends up going really really bad endgame I'll probably end up using the 3 pseudos.

>>
>>32520683
noe that there've been both Pokemon and Etrian Odyssey crossovers with Mystery Dungeon, I kinda wish there were an Etrian Pokemon crossover.
>>
>>32530055

Crobat is pretty much always good. It's practically the Nuzlocke Pokemon, everyone is likely to use it at least once. Depends on the game though. Earlier games are harder for Zubat as it's level up movepool is ass, but later games make it a bit better.
>>
Water Trial was pretty easy. The totem poke used growl twice then a water gun before it went down to Bella.

>>
>>32531856
I wish I'd got a Riolu or Lillipup. Now I have to pray Virbank Complex doesn't give me Magnemite as always as I'm so sick of using Magnemite in Nuzlockes.
>>
>>32531819

BW2 has the biggest barrier to entry, that's for sure. And yeah, that's a pretty boring roll of encounters. Does your Pidove have Super Luck, at least?
>>
>>32531875

lol no

That said, I did take an Unfezant from Floccesy in a previous run that also did not have Super Luck.

BW2's problem is that everything good early on is in like two areas and you get so few encounters until Castelia.
>>
>>32531872
at least magnemite is pretty good as magnezone
especially given that air balloons are very accessible in B2/W2

had a lot of luck this run though (it's still ungoing, preparing for the E4 right now), virbank gave me a growlithe (still on my team, sadly I had to evolve him before he learned flare blitz because I really needed the extremespeed), chargestone was kind enough to give me a ferroseed (good god ferrothorn is a monster) and I actually managed to get a 5% encounter rate vibrava from reversal mountain
>>
>>32531910

I actually don't really want Growlithe either, I used it a few months ago in Fire Red. I'm really hoping for Elekid. Inner area, 1 in 4 chance, 3 strike for a non-dupe clause.

>>32531928

Just stay out of the dark grass. For some reason, the catch rates in dark grass scale with your pokedex completion, becoming easier the more pokemon you've caught. Meaning that anything you encounter in the early game becomes almost impossible to catch.
>>
>>32531976

I know about that, weird shit eh. I just wish my luck was better when Nuzlocking any game. I literally NEVER get the really rare or interesting stuff without heavy dupes manipulation.
>>
>>32531998
you could always try to cheese it a bit with repel, then make up for it by using an additional set of rules like no items during battles
>>
>>32521901
hey that's pretty good
>>
>>32531998

That's really a shame. There's certainly a real sense of excitement that comes from rolling a really rare pokemon on your first encounter. When I did White 2 challenge, I got a Metang on my first encounter in Giant Chasm. That certainly put a spring in my step.

Where are you at in your run right now?

Fair point. Koffing just seems kind of boring and I've used it in a Nuzlocke before. Gen 1 Pokemon in games with other gen mons always seem duller to me. that's why you gotta sell it, make the people want to watch for whatever energy you toss into your voice. i mean look at Dashie, dude constantly screaming.
i still ain't comfy with my voice, but i'm highly tempted to give it a shot with a nuzlocke series after i do some practice runs to familiarize myself with what to expect.
all i gotta say is, give it the old college try, you don't have much to lose in that regard

It's been a fairly fun run sofar, a lot less deaths than I anticipated but the gym leaders generally did put up good fights (aside from Marlon who really had no way to deal with Lego)
And now it's time to go challenge the E4

How ready would you rate my team? Any obvious improvements I should make?
>>
>>32533184
Energy doesn't always mean screaming. It means not sounding passive and bored(unless you're going for some chill vibe). You have to sound like you're enjoying what you're playing and really care about making it out alive.
>>
>>32533656
You're the same level as the highest of their levels you should be good hopefully keep updating ITT: I wanna see how you do
>>
>>32533667

This is a good perspective. It can be hard to imagine being high energy when you hate your voice as you have stated >>32532997, but I would ask why you hate your voice. What are the things you are critical of? If you can narrow that down, you can work on those aspects to make your commentary more palatable, at least for your own sake. And I would imagine it will get much easier the more time you spend listening to yourself.

Sorry, I'm not that guy, just somebody else that makes videos sometimes. That being said, I have some overall advice: the more you do, the better you get. Getting into the vibe of talking over games is made even easier if you do so for normal games. Say the shit that comes to mind when dialogue comes up, say out loud your plans for battles/puzzles, etc, even if you aren't recording/streaming. Then you're less likely to feel like you have nothing to talk about when you go to record/stream.

Does anyone have a surprise bro yet? I just caught StantlerKubrick and figured I'd use his Hypnosis to help catch a couple things, but that STAB Stomp is fucking nasty. Also, Intimidate is always nice.
>>
This fucking Meowth's fury swipes crit twice to kill my Dewpider.

Fire trial was easy enough. Totem poke flame bursted Skids to 10 hp but Skids one shot it with bulldoze.

Found a Magby but it called for help 3 times, burned doggo 3 times and trapped him in Fire Spin. Decided saving Doggo's life was worth more than a Magmar who's evo item is probably post game.

I guess Mallow is next and if this theme of captains dressing like their type continues then she's going to be grass trial. I guess it's time ot train Tichi.

Also I think it's time to turn off the exp share. Merchi and Bella out lvl every enemy I find making this ezy mode.

I'm going to try a series of Nuzlockes starting with FireRed and later games using transferred survivors from a previous Emerald run like >>32519463 has.

What do you guys think are some good restrictions to impose on the survivors and the run in general to account for the addition in choices aside from setting their levels to 1?
>>
>>32536345
I'd say going with the higher difficulty options like "battle mode set" and a severe limit on item use during fights (either none or 1 item for every item your opponent uses) in addition to the obvious factor of resetting the moves as well as the level of the 'mons so you don't break what's left of the balance into tiny little pieces
>>
>>32533656

Yeah, you were gonna be fine. Crustle is actually really legit and Starmie is a fucking murderer. I've used both of them in White 2, but not in the same run.

Crustle seems kind of underwhelming at first as you could get the likes of Scraggy, Darumaka, Sandile, and Sigilyph in the desert, which are all known nukes, but it's actually pretty damn good.

>>32533345

This is one of the most bizarre teams I've ever seen. I'm guessing you're out of options? That said I approve of Whimsicott. I used one on my first run and somehow it worked.

>>
How is SM on the difficulty scale? I need to play through Sun again anyways so I can reset for a shiny Null so figured this would be a good push.
>>
>>32536693

Pretty rough. Most of the game isn't too bad, and a lot of the Totems really depend on what you have on your team, but there's some really random difficult parts like Illma's Smeargle early on or the Trainer School. It's also got a pretty damn brutal lategame and all major bosses have max IVs and some EVs as well.

I reached Castelia City in White 2, so now I can actually start catching things again. Pokestar Studios is such a massive pace breaker even though it doesn't take that long, and it's one of the things that makes BW2 really not Nuzlocke friendly early on. Still deathless, team is Dewott/Patrat/Koffing and Purrloin and Pidove as emergency sacrifices if necessary and the cat is also my Cut slave.

Please Castelia and Relic Passage, give me something awesome.
>>
>>32527548

I was thinking of trying bw2 because I figured there would be a lot more variety than bw. Is that not the case? Just not at the beginning? I see a lot of people in this thread running it, what's the consensus?
>>
>>32538261

There's variety, but almost everything decent or interesting before the first two gyms appears in either Floccesy Ranch (Lillipup, Riolu, Mareep) or Virbank Complex (Koffing, Elekid or Magby depending on version, Growlithe, Magnemite), which means one bad encounter makes you lose a lot. Add in pacing issues such as going back and forth a lot and having to do the Pokestar Studios and the first chunk of the game can be pretty boring. Plus Cheren is hard for a first Gym Leader, don't take him lightly.

It's also pretty difficult late game
>>
>>32538261
The early game of BW and BW2 lacks variety really. The first gym in either one will ben4 Pokemon max, and will contain two of the three listed in >>32531819 95% of the time. In BW the 4th will be a monkey, unless you skip it to try for Munna, and in BW2 you might get lucky and get a Sewaddle and a different ranch catch. After that both open up.

BW2 also requires you grind like hell for the first gym.

My Plat run has met with tragedy. On the route just after you clear the Psyduck's headaches, Monferno (The Hots), Roselia (Dire), Crobat (Carcinogen) and Sjeffeh (Tropius) met with their ends. The only remaining survivor is Nailer the Seaking. I have to train up a new party to take on Cyrus in Celestic Town.

The Team:

>Cinco the Buneary Lv.24
>Nailer the Seaking Lv.37
>DC Dingle the Chingling, Lv.20
>Equinox the Ponyta, Lv.21
>Oskarou the Jolteon, Lv.28
>CyberTron the Porygon, Lv.25

Had a death while training near Pokemon Mansion, Ryo the Duskull. A big scare came just outside Hearthome, the little girl cosplaying as pikachu had a Lv.34 on rematch, so CyberTron nearly died.

Cont. in a bit, I've got to grind.
>>
>>32539012
Before I go, here's how everything went down:

>My the Rotom suffers his second death to the hands of Crasher Wake's Floatzel, Crit Ice Fang.
>The Hots, Dire, Carcinogen, and Sjeffeh all died after a double battle with a Raichu and Gyrados.
>The Hots was out first, and I thought Fire Blast might KO Raichu, but Gyrados outsped and crit with Aqua Tail
>Dire: Thunderbolt paralyzing it, and then Ice Fang whilst setting up Leech Seeds
>Sjeffeh: Quick Claw+Fly would not save me as it did in the Wake fight, I missed and got crit by Thunderbolt
>Carcinogen was raped by Thunderbolt
Thankfully, Oskarou had just evolved into Jolteon, making swift work of whatever HP Gyrados had left, and Nailer survived a ThunderShock and went on to freeze it with a Blizzard.
>>
>>32538993
Yeah, I grabbed the Meditite, but I've no need to use him yet. As for Mt. Coronet, I think I'll allow one interior and one summit mon. The other routes are pretty straightforward, if I remember.
>>
>>32539027
Also, should I count a Graveler's Self Destruct on the route left of Celestic as a wild death, or should I try again? Does anyone count Rt. 210 as two parts (post and pre Psyduck?)
>>
>>32539027
>Gyarados/Raichu double battle
Just did this in Diamond, it was terrifying. My only hope was using Roselia and Spiritomb and praying for sleephax since the rest of my team was Thunderbolt-weak.
>>32539047
I think we just determined it'd be allowed to catch two just above, yeah. Selfdestructs are still wild deaths, though.
>>
>>32539065
Yep. Blessed be Nailer. In the same fight I lost Ryo, Nailer tanked a crit Razor Leaf from a trainer's Leafeon leaving him at 12 HP but luckily the subsequent Blizzard froze it. (Wait, how do you have Spiritomb? Don't you have to talk to 32 players in the Underground?) Don't tell me you can talk to 32 NPCs or I'm off to the underground RIGHT NOW
>>
>>32539012

If you can trade, you can evolve Porygon immediately. The Upgrade comes before Porygon itself, for some reason. The Dubious Disc isn't until during the Galactic raid at Veilstone, but Porygon2 is good until then.

My White 2 run has improved since the beginning. I've got considerably better encounters since the boring beginning. I even got the rare 5% Scraggy. The team, all at level 30 ready to go into Elesa's gym:

>Torvus the Dewott, ironically with a Calm nature considering the meaning of "Torvus"
>Buckle the Watchog
>Smoghead the Koffing
>Amor the Swoobat
>Lillian the Lilligant
>Miss Lizz the Scraggy

Swoobat is the worst on my team, strangely. I've never used one of these things before, but it's somehow even worse than I thought it would be. Other than my Watchog who is really great now but won't be for the endgame, Amor is up there as something that may need to be replaced later.

I have a Swadloon, Pidove, Cut Slave Purrlion, Solosis (with a shit nature unfortunately), a Dwebble that I would auto-team if I hadn't used it in White 2 previously, and a Zubat.

I'm basically trying to roll through to Clay with this, then see what Routes 6 and Chargestone Cave give me, and I've saved Relic Castle so I can attempt to snag Volcarona too. I so want to use Volcarona if the nature's good.
>>
>>32538467
The way I'm doing it. If the name on the where you caught the poke on it's summary is different then you can catch it. Might end up limiting myself too much but I'll deal with that when I come to it
>>
>>32539143
Only a buddy of mine has got a Gen IV game, I'm going to try and get it evolved soon. In a non nuzlocke run, Adaptability Porygon-Z with Hyper Beam and Silk Scarf saved my ass so hard. Watch that Lilligant and Scraggy on Elesa's Emolga, if you plan to use them. Last run I did I lost a Scraggy to that fight.
>>
>>32539170
Additionally, in the Post Psyduck part of route 210, I caught a Machoke, despite having caught a Ponyta on the way to Veilstone, when the Psyducks were still there. What do?
>>
>>32539135
Ha, afraid not. I had to grind it out with my old DS and Platinum game. I'm not running species clause and didn't wanna risk the low% Mime Jr., so rather than add to my growing Zubat/Geodude/Bidoof collection I decided to guarantee myself a unique mon. Hoping she's the heroine against Fantina I'm expecting her to be.
>>32539151
Yeah, that was my intial judgement call too, but then you have stuff like Pinwheel and Coronet where the overlap is nonexistent. I think as long as good judgement is applied there should be a little wiggle room, but hey.

Ended up going with my route 14 catch, a Charmander (yay overhyped fire starters). Power Plant saw a Natu Teleport away, followed by a Dewgong and Flygon. The Electrodes or Voltorbs (not sure what I activated) are Dragonites. At Cinnabar Island after clearing Silph and beating Sabrina (Water gym). Debating which fossil to revive, the Old Amber or the Helix fossil. First response decides, unless i get through Pokemon Mansion first.

Oh right, Fantina's way later in D/P than in Platinum. I am running species clause, pretty much the only reason I don't have like 30 zubats

Bizzare and limited of options, yes, but that's a point of a nuzlocke, right? We end up with team we wouldn't really have otherwise. After 3 gyms and right in front of the 4th gym, it's been smooth sailing so far, though it is FireRed and all, even with set battle mode, only using 1 item for every the opponent uses and resetting their moves and levels for the transferred survivors.

Having an Altaria from Emerald really trivialized Misty though, even though I had an Oddish. Might have to think another rule to throw in when I do Platinum with these set of rules.

For reference, I walked out of Emerald with a Gyarados, Altaria, Dustox, Hariyama, and a Claydol.

This run still, made lots of progress, also noticed I put Scraggy's name wrong, it's actually Queen Lizz. But anyway. I just defeated Hugh in Undella Town. Unfortunately, I finally had my first death - I lost Smoghead the Weezing to a Darmanitan in Reversal Mountain. One of those situations where I really couldn't switch anything in. Healing may have helped, but I guess I was expecting Belly Drum. Puts me in a tight spot actually, my box is full of redundant stuff.

>Torvus the Samurott, suddenly current MVP
>Buckle the Watchog, back in training again
>Amor the Swoobat, who is surprisingly less shit now and a hax king
>Lillian the Lilligant
>Queen Lizz the Scrafty
>ChaosAngel the Volcarona

I boxed Watchog when Volcarona turned out to be Calm natured, one of the best possible. Watchog only came back due to the death, and he's getting Exp Shared back up incase I need him badly. I was worried about Skyla, but Swoobat did the most work while Samurott helped out.

If I lose Swoobat, I do have a nice neutral natured Elgyem in the box, a Pokemon I've never used before. Chargestone Cave was disappointing - I got Joltik yet again, only it was Careful natured and didn't even have Compound Eyes. I think I get Joltik almost every time. Route 7 gave me a Tranquill, while Reversal Mountain gave me Skorupi and Strange House gave me Litwick, but I wish the latter two had swapped natures.

I'm really, really, hoping for either Tynamo, Garbodor, or Gligar (or I guess even Karrablast in later areas, as it wouldn't share weaknesses with Volcarona and isn't weak to Fighting), or I'm fucked against Fighting and Flying types. This is also the part of White 2 where the game gets hard, so I'm starting to get concerned.

Lost Muds because not paying attention while grinding and I lost Digs because it got one shot from full hp. It's just too much of a hassle to with it's super low health and defence to have to potion/switch out after literally 1 attack.

Whirly tanked 1 Air Cutter and it only did 15% of his hp. Didn't expect a crit to kill, was looking forward to using Polywrath.
