So far we've had:
Gen 1: WTF (amphibian/reptile) Lizard (reptile) Turtle (reptile)
Gen 2. Sauropod (reptile) Echidna/Weasel/Badger (mammal) Alligator (reptile)
Gen 3. Gecko (reptile) Chicken (bird) Mudskipper (amphibian)
Gen 4. Turtle (reptile) Monkey (mammal) Penguin (bird)
Gen 5. Snake (reptile) Boar (mammal) Otter (mammal)
Gen 6. Hedgehog (mammal) Fox (mammal) Frog (amphibian)
Gen 7. Owl (bird) Cat (mammal) Sea Lion (mammal)

So we had 3 birds, one of each type (Torchic, Piplup, Rowlet),
two turtles, water and grass (Squirtle and Turtwig)

What prediction would you make for gen 8 starters?
Will we see a fire turtle?

Really hope the next fire starter will end up as fire/electric it'd be great to se more exotic or rarely seen type combos on more pokemon

I'm trying to think of any bug type that gets any pandering/merch and the closest I can think of is Vivillion and maybe Butterfree? I just don't see a bug starter being likely... ever.
