What's the point of magic coat on leads? You bounce their hazard but stealth rock has more pp so they'll still get it up
>>32491143
To waste the opponent's turn and pressure the opponent.
If you use a hazard move, you both take up a turn.
If you send the hazards back, not only will they have to waste a turn setting them back up, but will also be pressured into switching or attacking.

Not if you use PP ups
>>32491143
You waste their turn and get your rocks up. They either have to use rocks again which gives you a free turn or go without turn1 rocks.
>>32491143
Magic Coat can bounce Taunt and Spore/sleep as well, you're forgetting.

it's >>32491980
>turn 1
>magic coat their stealth rock
now on turn 2, for your opponent it's like the match has just started and they're about to use SR for the first time, while you already have your rocks set up and can do something else
>>32491980
>get your rocks off
Fixed that for you.

Back in oras I used a Reuniclus with magic coat to shit on faggots using dark void smeargle, worked like a charm. It also gets increased priority so It will always bounce back whatever bullshit your opponent throws at you, pretty good move imo.
>>32491253
PP Ups can go both ways, dingdong.
>>32491143
imo this is fucked up because of fake out plus smeargle and other magic coat users are exposed to being killed first before you decide to use status ect.
