Correction - it would make mons with ice coverage better, which includes all Waters already (bar Seismitoad and Keldeo I think) Ice types would still suck.

Pokemon like Shellder, Tangela, and Jynx all share a "core" black sphere with simple eyes, and the way Shellder's evolution into Cloyster makes its core look more like Gastly made me think there was some implicit 'base' commonality between these Pokemon that'd be made more explicit with shared movepools/abilities at some point down the line. Never really came through.

I also thought they'd do something with Latias and Latios having the same triangle patterns on them as the Togepi line. Mega Lati@s looks very loosely similar to Togekiss in a sense, but other than that, nothing's really come of it.
