i've downloaded the launcher from the site and the pixpack from this thread but it still won't get past phase 3 of loading mods.

Any tips to get rid of the lag/long startup time?

Try to lowering the settings. When you try to use mods on minecraft, it will fuck hard your PC. I used to have a 750ti with an i5 4460 and 8GB of RAM, the same as you, and I used to get those fps, but lowering some stuff with optifine and setting 5/6 gb of ram halped a lot.

A mod pack is that, just a bunch of mods. Try to boot it without any other mod than forge, then try adding one mod and then the next one, until you get stuck, then try looking for help about that specific mod.

No the mistake was that the shrine was in making it reclickable. The shrine was in the middle of nowhere, a reward for finding it is perfectly reasonable. We all got teleported there as part of a little community event. When the issue was realized the item chest was destroyed and the masterballs deleted.

On the point of the food. It is common for servers to offer shops at spawn. It's not free, it's just very cheap. The shops only offer a small selection of other items. Most of which are only marginally cheaper than from the other pokemarts.

It's convenient to have the excuse that a master ball some kind of reward for finding a secret but what really happened was everyone on the server got a free master ball. The thin guise of it being a reward is totally broken by teleporting everyone there. And you're still conveniently ignoring how he completely spawned in Brett's town for him. I might be interested in rejoining and building a town/house/lab/etc. all over again

Colonies allows you to experience the good old days by allowing you to manage a colony with colonist that actually does stuff (mine,cut trees,farm) It has a built in protection as well

As far as I know, there is one person who is building a town on a crag biome but no deep underground city yet

How stable is the server? Is it laggy at all during peak hours?

I played back in Gentoo and three but shit was obnoxious so I left because on some days there was more downtime than not.

We had crashes at the start apparently but that seem to have been fixed for a while now since I haven't crashed at all since playing. Haven't really experienced lag myself too
