Somewhat disappointed. I think it's a good enough game as a stand alone, and doesn't really need a sequel. There's not much that can be done to enhance that gameplay.
At least we'll be getting good art.

I just don't think the setting mesh's with Pokemon. Pokemon is a very worldly game at this point, and just having a nippon banzai centric setting seems odd.

The main problem with that is that now you have to translate specific pokemon as playing as specific kinds of units. Given how pokemon is, this should be simple, right? There's multiple pokemon that fill the same role, and to make it balanced, you'll have to limit the pool to a certain number of pokemon.

I really didn't like how every Pokemon only had one attack. They should have 4 attacks with PP restrictions like the main games. It could be closer to something like Fire Emblem where you can carry multiple weapons.

At least this game made me research all the history behind it. True, I know I'm one of a few that will actually do that. Although it also made me pity the matter that there is no equivalent situation I know of for more familiar history since there just aren't that many figures for one era of history to play off of, save for either of the World Wars.

Actually, I'd kinda pity them for all the junk they have to deal with now. Megas, Z moves. True, I have long pondered how they would implement Megas, and Z moves could be retooled as something that they've technically already done in the Ranger games. All you would need to do is let us charge assists.

megas would just be a game mechanic to make bosses harder. That asshole from the original ranger with this tyranitar would make it mega evolve after you beat him the first time for instance. I don't see why it would need to incorporate z-moves.

There's a mechanic in Guardian Signs where the pokemon become angry and they're much harder to get their HP down. I suppose it could be like that.

Happy, as it's one of my favorite spinoffs alongside the GC games. Hopefully it's more expansive than the 1st game, and includes more mons and a larger or different region.
