why are there so many one stage pokemon that never get any

While i do agree that not every Pokemon needs to be good i dont see why any Pokemon has to be bad. i think every mon should have at least some sort of quirk that makes it worth putting it on your team - at the very least in game.

Qwilfish can potentailly pull off a sweep with Swords Danced Explosions under the rain.

They tried to give Heatmor attention and did so by giving it a signature move that it doesn't really appreciate but would be pretty good on most physical Fire-types but won't ever be distributed to them most likely.

But it was buffed with more defense. Both Swift Swim and Intimidate are good abilities. It's usable.
