Here is three reasons why infernape is a bad design

The fire hair thing is quite ridiculous looking it's brain would be constantly burning.
Other than its head it's just a monkey with yellow swirls for a shit and big ridiculously big hands and feet. Not really pokemon enough.
Just mediocre compared to blaziken it's predessesor in terms of design. Even though they share in being fighting types it doesn't even have any unique fighting moves like blaze kick to show off its fighting style.

All the generation 7 starters are never going to be OU. They are just too slow and not min maxed enough.
Incineroar and decideye need to ether set up to do any good. Or with dicidueye just get the fuckin out while hit and running. They aren't sweeping anytime soon like much more powerful starters.

Ivery never used primarina I just assume it doesn't do as good as tapu fini and azumaril for baseless reasons such as useage and it's abilities being shit just like the other gen 7 starters.
Sure they have niches but they are just bad.
