I wasn't really angry, but I turned the stream off as soon as Greninja lost and felt disappointed for the next couple hours before I fell asleep. I sort of knew he'd never win and even had a bad feeling when the episode started and the fight felt off, but I really hoped they'd actually do it. I didn't visit /vp/ for the rest of the week and didn't watch the rest of XYZ until it was finished. I'm never going to let anyone convince me the anime is worth watching again.

It won't be the same, the anime gave them good reasons to believe he would finally win, only to bait-n-switch them. That's what made the butthurt so delicious.

I will not lie, I was devastated. I really thought things could be different this time. For a moment, they were, but nope, the coin toss was rigged the entire time. There is no forgiveness for this act, and what they thought was more important was not worth being cheated like this, and the redirection of Sun and Moon wasn't worth this, either.

However, ever since then, I have made the effort to move on. True, there are things that are more important than the League, and I enjoyed the Team Flare finale, even if I was not satisfied with Ash's role in it. It is still the best villain climax ever. The only bit of solace I got in the end, though, was that the end of XY felt like a final end to the anime as a whole. I would have no problems with this, I always knew the anime would end in such a way. I know it isn't an end, but it would be nice to make like it is. I left Sun and Moon fairly quickly, feeling as if all of it was missing the point. I do not believe it can end well. Even if the Team Skull/Aether shenanigans happen, it will still be for naught since that's not what this anime's about. Even the league is soured by this matter, as I see no point anymore. They have spoken. Not even with everything in place to give him a proper win can they do it. True, him winning isn't what's really important to me, but for them to do it now would be meaningless to me. It cannot be fixed, they ruined it forever.

I'm okay with that, though. I don't need to stick around with this forever. It's always been true that a child could write better than this show, and even they know better than to do this. It isn't even the matter that he lost, but the reason why he lost, and that it ultimately meant nothing. This probably will not be the last I will say on this, but I want it to be. Let this be put to rest and forever purged. We will be much better for it. Leave it and be free once more.

Indeed. No permanent Perfect Zygarde made 2016 even shittier, I rarely am disappointed with Pokemon games but SM regarding Zygarde made it a shitty experience.

I was sad that he couldn't just become the new lead, (Pokemon needs one) so him winning, and even kicking ass in the finale was a decent consolation prize.
