I could see them making the snake a physically oriented Fire/Poison type to not overlap with Salazzle, like with Fire Fang and Poison Fang and maybe Strong Jaw as its HA. Plus Poison is kinda that gruesome typing along with Greninja's Dark and Decidueye's Ghost. Since Delphox and Incineroar have Fire objects, it'd probably be a rattlesnake with a fire rattle.

Kind of. People going on and on about how creatively perfect they are and how only Game Freak could ever came up with these doesn't exactly help either.

I'm always open to all sorts of designs, but as of lately, I feel more forced now than ever to like these, as if I'm supposed to even though I do realize I have the freedom to either like or dislike them.

I was pretty damn apathetic towards gen VII's designs back when they were leaked and some people were too, but of course that changed the minute it was officially announced. Almost as if they just had to get used to them regardless because they know it's what they're getting.

I feel the exact opposite.
I'm glad that they'll always be around for me to eventually grow into and form new opinions of. There's several of my favourites that I would never have considered liking if I didn't force myself into giving them a chance. No qualms whatsoever about finding new things to enjoy.

I felt like this sometime in the middle of Gen IV, then just before Gen VI began I learned to not give fuck and just play it if I liked it.

Pokemon won't ever be as important and deeply engaging to me as it was when I was 9 years old. I've learned to accept that it's arbitrary and only worth keeping up with as much as it entertains me.

I've been feeling like there's a battle going on in me to try not to be easily swayed and firm in where I stand but also try to be open-minded and see things from others' perspective. Maybe it's an aging thing where I don't want to be seen as an old guy stuck in his ways but I still want to try and stand for something -- why I highlighted the newest gen starters in particular.
