Atlus would do a good job. Inti or Capcom could do something cool, judging by how I felt on past RPGs from them, like Appmon from Inti, or Breath of Fire and the various Mega Man RPGs from Capcom. Media Vision also comes to mind, with their good ol' Wild ARMs stuff and their recent work with Cyber Sleuth.

A couple years ago I would've said definitely Level-5 after playing the Inazuma Eleven and LBX series, but playing the Yo-kai Watch series has turned me off from them a lot.

Level-5 would put a lot of effort into it, which is something I'm not sure you can say for gamefreak.

I'm not sure if the vision would be there, but I'd be willing to give them a shot. And no, it wouldn't end up like Yokai Watch. People here assume that they tried to make a poke-clone and miserably failed, when in reality, the over-the top and comical themes/designs are purposefully made that way.

NIS would make a good Pokemon game, imagine Pokemon Conquest but a lot more cuh-rayzee. The return to sprites combined with Disgaea's number porn would be sweet. But most of all, I'd love the idea that any Pokemon can become ridiculously powerful just like how any Disgaea unit can hit max stats. Imagine doing pic related with a Ledian.

I honestly don't know that many RPG developers, and I'm only familiar with the games of one of them. Square Enix could bring us into the 21st century at last, but I DON'T WANT PRETENTIOUS MALARKEY #1 TRILLION. I also don't want edgy garbage, either, so that takes out some of the others. I'm just not familiar enough with western RPGs to make a suggestion there. The structure alone shows vast promise, but the same as the above complaints, they haven't done anything lighthearted enough. I don't want too realistic, either. I'll have to do more investigation for certain. Anyone can be more consistent than what we've got. Anyone can give us an actual plot. What I need is someone who understands the balance. Someone who can make the plot interesting, but doesn't have to be a super edgelord to do it.

I'd love to see a Pokemon spin-off in the style of Xenoblade Chronicles by Monolith Soft. Either that or a Fire Emblem cross-over. Conquest was good but would be nice if you could customise the moves your Pokemon like you can customise your inventory in Fire Emblem, rather than only having one move that each Pokemon can use.

I haven't really seen SMT, I have seen part of one of the Persona games, enough that I got bored of it and didn't finish watching it. If they have a similar style, though, then yes, the only real complaint I have is with the monster design itself. Well, they have neat ideas, but it just doesn't appeal to me. Everything else would be virtually fine if toned down a bit, to probably not being toned down at all. (I do have some leeway)
