I liked Sun and Moon, granted not in the same light as the other main series games but enough to eventually come back to it.

I hadn't played either since maybe then except for a few events because I finished everything I wanted to accomplish. I could still transfer my entire Pokedex from OR to my Moon, but for what reason? Been too many other game releases this year to need to pick it up again so soon.

As someone who often replays the games over and over, a big issue for me was the starters. I only like 1 of them so cba to try out the others.

The best starters are the ones that allow you to project a personality on to. Gen 6 and 7 starters suck because they follow character archetypes.

The first video game I ever played was Pokemon Red in 1998 and I was 4 years old. Inb4 Genwunner. Prior to Gen 6 I'd played/owned every version of main series Pokemon at some point in my life as well as beaten them.

I stopped playing Moon shortly after reaching the second island because my interest was just completely gone. The dull colors on the 3DS, the hand-holding, the lag, the lack of difficulty, it was an awful game. It, as well as Gen 6, were bad. Objectively bad.

You can say it's because I'm growing up, you can tell me to turn the Exp. Share off, you can even tell me the games were never that good to begin with (and they weren't), but they aren't what they used to be. They're hand-holdy, easy, even more casual and shit excuses for RPGs than they ever were.

At this point I'm only here for /heg/ and to reminisce about past games.

It was quite good but it lost a considerable amount of its luster for me with the end of online services, since a great deal of my time with it was spent on GTS negotiations. I do still enjoy Pokestar studios though, and the battle facilities were the best in the whole series solely because they had a worthwhile reward at the end (a shiny gible/dratini). Eeh. I'm mostly an ingame player too (I have never done an online battle and never used PSS in ORAS) but I love trading. I mostly collect Pokemon rather than battle. I appreciate in SM that they separated the online but trading locally is a pain. I must admit, I found the PR videos frustrating to make and like no one ever bothered looking at them, but I loved that they used the full models instead of the hideous chibis.
