How can we add more grinding and other time-consuming activies to the Pokémon games?
Pokemon gain a small percentage of their exp after leveling up rather than the full value. After a few hours the modifier is reset. This will promote raising multiple pokemon rather than a few powerhouses.
You may only use a pkmn center once every 24 hours. If your pokemon are fainting that often, then you need to take a break and reflect on what you are doing wrong.
Ev training is now relegated to level 100 pokemon only, otherwise remains unchanged.
Pokemon eggs are now timer based, with the fastest hatching in a day while others can reach upwards of 6-8 weeks. Pokemon are not machines. You can't rush life.
Money is no longer exchanged between winners and losers of pokemon battles. To get funds for your adventure, you must perform real jobs that aid society in some way. For example, working parttime at a pokemart, or teaching new trainers the basics of pokemon care.
In the event of a party wipe, your save file is lost. With nothing to protect you, you are raped by travelling trainers and eaten by wild pokemon.

Most of these are arbitrary wait times, which don't add to the number of activites, but

This one is actually a good idea. The hotel jobs in Lumiose were nice. Although I don't think prize money from battles should be removed entirely, I'd like to see something like this become a much bigger and more efficient source of money, along with some things to actually spend money on, like the Villa.

Once every day, you can battle a trainer in a special facility that awards gems depending on your performance, with 10 gems as the maximum.
You can spend between 100 and 200 of those gems on a mystery egg containing a Pokemon with a unique move that it cannot learn by any means or pass down by breeding.
Which Pokemon and unique move you receive is random, and duplicates are possible.
EV Training is exclusive to Berries, but you only get one of each per save in the field.
However, there's a new minigame where you can clone Berries at a specific facility in postgame, with the amount of Berries cloned being based on the difficulty which unlocks as you gain more Battle Fuckhouse Trophies.
The minigame itself takes about 5 minutes and is more or less a Rhythm Game, but cloning fails if you don't meet the score requirement.
