>gets a physical based ha
>is a special attacker
>gets no physical steel/ice moves
>has to rely on old gens HM and move tutors to be useable
What, does he need to be good, /vp/?
>>32219581
>Defiant
>physical based HA
why, because intimidate?
>>32219581
Empoleon is already pretty good desu
>>32219599
Kek
Defiant's never going to be replaced with Competitive, isn't it?
The only thing Empoleon needs is roost.
>special attcker
while his base spa is the higher stat, it doesn't has access to nasty plot; it does, hoowever, has access to SD
>physical steel moves
so what? steel is shit offensively.
>physical ice moves
big deal, its not like it get stabs on those or anything.
>has to rely on old gens HM and move tutors to be useable
most pokemons needs prev gens variaty to show their entire potential.
>>32219847
>no need for physical ice coverage
What is garchomp
What is landorus
What is any bulky ground/grass type
>>32219861
im not saying ice is bad
im saying water isn't ice. dont try to play it as something it isn't.
also remember:
ground is weak to water
and natural stab i still scary when boosted by SD

I was going to reply seriously but if you really think Torterra is one of the main issue of Empoleon I'll just give your >(you) and move on.
Weird that it doesn't get Iron Head via move tutor. Not that it would help all that much.

He meant either ground OR grass types.
Learn to read.

>no physical Steel moves
>learns Steel Wing already
I won't lie, it'd be cool to see it learn Anchor Shot.
I dunno if it really needs it, but thematically I think it could work, being an aquatic Steel-type.
You could use Defiant and Anchor Shot to shut down Intimidate-users who repeatedly switch out, and on a physical mon, it's a bit more reliable than Whirlpool. Landorus is still a problem, but Arcanine basically neutral.
Then just give it a Z-move that works like an improved Aqua Jet, and goodbye Landorus.
